Feel the Love, Not the Camera
01 / 27
I believe that photography should never come at the expense of your comfort and experience. Instead, I use photography as an incredible tool to preserve emotion, energy and connection. My approach as a documentary elopement photographer means I can authentically capture your story in the most unobtrusive way possible. And my years of experience allow me to artfully record the fleeting at any given moment.
The day you marry your life partner is incredibly important and special. Eloping gives you a chance to throw out the rule book and explore a world of possibilities. I’d love to help you create a day that focuses on each other and reflects who you are in the most natural and authentic way. The day of, you’ll feel comfortable, forget about the camera, and be able to experience and enjoy every moment. When all is said and done, you won’t just have beautiful photographs, you’ll have a visual record that will transport you back to how it felt and reignite memories for years to come.
“Gina is an incredible photographer! My wife and I couldn’t have been happier with our choice. She is so friendly with a calm, warm energy that won’t just blend in but will elevate your day. Her presence was such a positive one, and the photos are impeccable! Will cherish them forever; they are excellent, intimate photographs that are well-crafted and appear timeless. Forever grateful to Gina!”
“Gina’s documentary style is exactly what we were looking for our elopement! My husband and I are both self-conscious people who are not comfortable in front of a camera. Gina was so kind and supportive. She made our day feel special and got all the photographs we wanted and more. Our families loved the documentary style. Since none of them were invited, the photographs made them feel included in the day. I would highly recommend her for any type of wedding but especially for elopements, I couldn’t be happier with our photographs!”
“The attention to detail was impeccable, ensuring that every smile, tear, and laughter was beautifully documented. Gina’s ability to capture candid shots was remarkable, making us relive the emotions and feelings of our wedding day with each photograph. Her creative eye added an artistic touch to every image, making our album a work of art that we will cherish for a lifetime.”
Just like your intimate wedding is specific to you, your photography should be tailored to reflect your unique needs and preferences. To support this, I’ll help you create a unique collection that can meet your vision. Along with day of documentation to cover your story, you have the option to avail of the incorporation of film coverage and a book/album/print credit.
Each item is designed to document your elopement without intrusion and with care. I also love helping you make the most of your investment by getting your photographs off the hard drive and into your home. (Read more about the importance of the printed photo here.)
Along with full support in creating a ‘flow of day’ centered around you and your experience, all documentation includes a curated collection of the edited, high-resolution photographs with print release on a beautiful online gallery. Each of your photographs will be in both color and black and white and you can download, and enjoy, each and every one.
Though I’m sure we’ll cover lots of ground when we connect, here are a few answers to some questions you may have in the meantime.
I define documentary photography as an unstaged, hands-off approach that captures genuine, raw, and emotional moments as they naturally unfold. I focus on authentic storytelling and “in-between” moments, working discreetly to allow subjects to be themselves rather than directing or posing them.
I studied documentary photography in both undergraduate and graduate school. My work centered around my passion for sub-cultures and the celebration of individuals and communities outside of the mainstream and norm. I learned to ensure that everyone I photographed felt trusting, comfortable and at ease with me. I ensure they didn’t feel observed and exploited but instead seen. That same philosophy is how I approach each and every wedding I photograph today.
I have found that the most flattering photographs are the ones without any interference, performance or posing. By catching a genuine and emotional moment and using my experience and skills as a photographer, I am creating an artful image that highlights your beauty.
I completely understand and feel the same way when I’m on the other side of the camera. To put you at ease, I’ll share that my portfolio is made of individuals who felt the same way. I promise our time together will be comfortable and centered around your experience. I’ll help ensure you can forget about the camera, be present and not feel performative. When you don’t feel that you’re being photographed, you can’t hate it.
I understand the importance of family photographs and always ensure you have as many (or as few) portraits as you’d like. I’ll help you decide when they can take place for the least amount of impact on your day and will take the lead to ensure it is an enjoyable, relaxed and efficient experience. Each portrait will be well lit and loved by every generation.
For the majority of the day (sometimes all of it!) I am using ambient light to photograph. This approach is not only less obtrusive, it also reflects how your day felt.
Of course! I celebrate BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, neurodivergent and ALL individuals and couples from all cultures, beliefs and backgrounds. I am neurodivergent myself with a complex story that allows me to relate to others in a deep way. The human experience fascinates me and I’m very grateful that I can use my camera to show and record its complexity and beauty.
Absolutely! Though I’m based in Boston I regularly photograph throughout New England. I’m open to other regions/locations as well.
I always ensure you receive an exceptional curated gallery of quality photographs. To achieve this, my regular turnaround time for your wedding gallery is 10 weeks. If you’d like a sneak peek 2 weeks after your wedding, this can be closer to 12 weeks.
