Feel Every Moment, Not the Camera.

The Process

I believe that photography should never come at the expense of your comfort and experience. Instead, I use photography as an incredible tool to preserve emotion, energy and connection. My approach as a documentary wedding photographer means I can authentically capture your story in the most unobtrusive way possible. And my years of experience allow me to artfully record the fleeting at any given moment.

The day of, you’ll feel comfortable, forget about the camera, and be able to experience and enjoy every moment, knowing that I’m there (somewhere!) capturing it all. When all is said and done, you won’t just have beautiful photographs, you’ll have a visual record that will transport you back to how it felt and reignite memories for years to come.

The Experience

“Julie and I just sat together for 2 hours looking through each and every image – we’re in awe! You captured everything and gave us the opportunity to relive this magical day! We awwwwed after each photo and wondered how you were seemingly in so many places at once!

We feel so lucky that we got to have you as our photographer! These moments you captured are so pure and genuine and they transport us back to the day in such an incredible way. Even without knowing our family and friends, you captured their spirits in such an amazing way.

We really just can’t thank you enough for this incredible gift! It’s hard to put words to how moved we feel seeing our day through your lens. Thank you for being so wonderful from the moment we first reached out. We’re so grateful!”

“Gina!! Sorry for the radio silence, but I have been unable to put a coherent sentence together since unearthing the photos. We are just over the moon!! We opened a bottle of wine and went through every last picture. Joe can’t stop saying he wishes we could do it again.

The pictures are simply stunning. I knew you were the one from the minute I looked at your gallery, but seeing US in the pictures is SO INCREDIBLE. You made us look like movie stars!! You managed to capture every detail we slaved over, every emotion, every old person’s fabulous wrinkle!!! We saw things in your photos that we never knew were happening around us. Everything we hoped you would capture you made even more amazing than we remembered. What a gift to have all of these memories preserved with your incredible skill. I truly have too many favorites to count.”

Sophia & Joe

“We are floored. Gina delivered an incredible collection that so fully captured the spirit of the day. Within about 30 seconds of viewing the slideshow, we were crying. She captured such a range of feeling, and it was incredible for us to see the moments of the day that we didn’t see live. The aesthetics were also amazing, capturing the mood, exuberant color and liveliness of the celebration. We also love how the film photos came out — they add a real feeling of nostalgia, which I’m sure will only grow with time.

We will absolutely treasure these photos forever and can’t wait to share them with family and friends. It feels like there’s a gorgeous shot of all our loved ones in there. We can’t believe the depth and breadth of the album. She managed to be in so many places at once! We really could not have asked for a more stunning time capsule of this very special day.”

The Collections

Just like your wedding day is one-of-a-kind, your wedding photography should be tailored to reflect your unique needs and preferences. To support this, I take a custom approach and help you create a unique collection that can meet and exceed your vision. Along with day of documentation to cover your story, you have the option to avail of engagement documentation, welcome reception coverage, the incorporation of film coverage and a book/album/print credit.

Each item is designed to help you make the most of your investment. From preserving this stage in your life through a “slice of life engagement session” to getting your photographs off the hard drive and into your home. (Read more about the importance of the printed photo here.)

Along with full support in creating a ‘flow of day’ centered around you and your experience, all documentation includes a curated collection of the edited, high-resolution photographs with print release on a beautiful online gallery. Each of your photographs will be in both color and black and white and you can download, and enjoy, each and every one.

Questions You May Have…

Though I’m sure we’ll cover lots of ground when we connect, here are a few answers to some questions you may have in the meantime.

I define documentary photography as an unstaged, hands-off approach that captures genuine, raw, and emotional moments as they naturally unfold. I focus on authentic storytelling and “in-between” moments, working discreetly to allow subjects to be themselves rather than directing or posing them.

I studied documentary photography in both undergraduate and graduate school. My work centered around my passion for sub-cultures and the celebration of individuals and communities outside of the mainstream and norm. I learned to ensure that everyone I photographed felt trusting, comfortable and at ease with me. I ensure they didn’t feel observed and exploited but instead seen. That same philosophy is how I approach each and every wedding I photograph today.

What will your goals be when photographing our wedding?

I have found that the most flattering photographs are the ones without any interference, performance or posing. By catching a genuine and emotional moment and using my experience and skills as a photographer, I am creating an artful image that highlights your beauty.

I completely understand and feel the same way when I’m on the other side of the camera. To put you at ease, I’ll share that my portfolio is made of individuals who felt the same way. I promise our time together will be comfortable and centered around your experience. I’ll help ensure you can forget about the camera, be present and not feel performative. When you don’t feel that you’re being photographed, you can’t hate it.

I understand the importance of family photographs and always ensure you have as many (or as few) portraits as you’d like. I’ll help you decide when they can take place for the least amount of impact on your day and will take the lead to ensure it is an enjoyable, relaxed and efficient experience. Each portrait will be well lit and loved by every generation.

Do we need an engagement session?

What are the benefits of having our rehearsal dinner or welcome party photographed?

For the majority of the day (sometimes all of it!) I am using ambient light to photograph. This approach is not only less obtrusive, it also reflects how your day felt.

I nearly always work solo. Ensuring you and your guests can forget about the camera is how I capture the authentic and genuine moments that I do. By working alone, you’ll feel more at ease and won’t have a crew following you around. And my years of experience allow me to seemingly be everywhere at once. I also find I can document your story in a more cohesive way because I know what has and what has yet to be photographed. Lastly, as your one and only visual author, your collection of photographs will be wonderfully cohesive.

Do you offer video and/or Super 8?

Of course! I celebrate BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, neurodivergent and ALL individuals and couples from all cultures, beliefs and backgrounds. I am neurodivergent myself with a complex story that allows me to relate to others in a deep way. The human experience fascinates me and I’m very grateful that I can use my camera to show and record its complexity and beauty.

Absolutely! While I’m based in Boston I regularly photograph throughout New England and beyond.

I always ensure you receive an exceptional curated gallery of quality photographs in both color and b&w. To achieve this, my regular turnaround time for your wedding gallery is 10 weeks. If you’d like a preview 2 weeks after your wedding, this can be closer to 12 weeks.
